Theodore Ron Weegar
Pastor Theodore Rondolphus Richard Weegar is selected as our personality focus for this period. He was elected as Chaplain of the Bassa High School Association, USA during the 2014 convention in Lanham, MD.
Pastor T. Ron Weegar, as he is called by most people, is a 1982 graduate of the Bassa High School. He is an accomplished alumnus of the institution, excelling in both the academic and religious arenas. Academically, T. Ron attained his B.A. degree in Ministerial Theology from Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL. This was not satisfactory enough for Pastor Weegar, instead, he pursued and completed a M.Div. degree from the SDA Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, MI. With a zeal for academic excellence, he is enrolled in the Doctoral program in Divinity with emphasis in Urban Ministries at Andrews University. All classworks have been completed to date and he is now engaged in the research and writing aspect. We anxiously anticipate adding another doctor to our ranks.
Religiously, Pastor Weegar has been in ministry since 1996, starting with the South Central Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist. He pastored churches in the East Tennessee and Mississippi Gulf Coast areas over the years. He currently serves as Senior Pastor of the Ephesus Church within the Southwest Region Conference of the SDA, a position he has held since September of 2006.
Pastor T. Ron Weegar actively participated in the humanitarian efforts to help the communities devastated by Hurricane Katrina, among many other things. He is married to the lovely Shannon Christie, a union blessed with three wonderful children, a boy and two girls. Their adult son lives in Woodbury, NJ. One of the daughters attends college at her dad’s alma mater, Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL. The other daughter is a senior at Bass Memorial Academy in Lumberton, MS.
We highlight Pastor T. Ron Weegar and salute the Weegar family.
