Mr. Calvin Roosevelt Johnson is an active member of the association. He has served in several key capacities over the years, including delivering the keynote address at the 2006 convention,  Publicity and program chairperson of several conventions, and most recently, interim vice president after the sudden death of President Hawa Kpakah. Additionally, Calvin has generously supported the cause of the organization. He has provided prizes for the popular raffle held during conventions, and used his personal resources to help fund the printing of convention programs.

 

Calvin is an outstanding member of the famous class of 1975. He graduated from the University of Liberia, pursued graduate studies at Howard University and The John Hopkins University, where he specialized in communications; telecommunications and Information Systems respectively. Currently, Mr. Johnson is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a candidate for the ITIL Certification credential. He is a practicing Senior Level PM/Program Manager and IT leader, specializing in managing difficult IT projects in the areas of ERP, eCommerce, EDI/SAP, Logistics, and Supply Chain Implementation and Integration. His works provide support services to clients in North America, Europe, and Asia. He has led multi-million dollar projects for reputable companies such as IBM, Computer Sciences Corporation, GE (Information Services) and Harbinger Corporation, among several others.

 

Mr. Johnson is also a seasoned diplomat, having been opportuned to serve Liberia as the Minister Consular for Public Affairs at the Liberian Embassy in Washington, DC (a senior diplomat and deputy ambassador position).

 

Calvin is a true son of the soil, hailing from the historic city of Edina, Grand Bassa County. He is also a family man, the father of four wonderful children, Calvin, Jr., Delvin, Lainu, and Leyeama, an even mix of two boys and two girls. He is currently leading the list of eligible bachelors within the association.

 

His academic life was greatly influenced by a number of great  scholarly individuals, including his late father, William A. Johnson, Professor Philip V. Saywrayne, Professor Abraham L. James, and his Thesis and Dissertation advisor, Professor Oscar H. Gandy, Jr. Calvin strives on the motto, "Success is the only option"
